Center for Green Politics member elected as Co-spokesperson of the Federation of Young European Greens

At the General Assembly of the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) in 2025 which was held in Paris, for the first time in the history of this organisation a person from the Balkans has been elected as one of the two co-spokespeople. Andrej Zlatović, a project assistant at the Center for Green Politics was elected, who is a member and the previous co-spokesperson of the Green Youth of Serbia. FYEG is an umbrella organisation for green political party youth organisations and youth civil society organisations made up of 38 member organisations from 33 European countries.

After one full mandate as Treasurer of this European organisation, Andrej was elected with strong support for the highest political function of FYEG. As one of the main pillars of their future work, he emphasised the connection of political organisations and civil society.

“The student movement further motivated me to showcase how important democracy as an ideology is for Serbia and the Balkans. We showed the whole world that a different type of organising is possible, one in which we strive for consensus and participation, rather than ideological purity. As the green movement has always placed youth at the forefront, I believe it is our duty to represent their needs and desires,” Andrej says.
